Studio Dacha is the design space of Dina Witten.

In Russian, dacha (дача) means a second home—a little cottage tucked away in the countryside. It's traditionally an escape from the chaos of city life, but to me, dacha is all about slowing down. It's that first deep breath of fresh air when you arrive, the way your whole body relaxes as you pull into the gravel driveway, the quiet of being surrounded by trees instead of traffic. It's when all the noise of the week finally fades and you can hear yourself think again. Space opens up for new ideas, forgotten daydreams, things you didn't know you needed to feel.

That's what great design does too. The right details make you stop and really notice. They shift something in you, make room for a new way of seeing.

We snagged our own Dacha during the pandemic, and it's become my favorite place to retreat from everything—the reason this studio has its name.
